Casting a character
When Voysey creates a character it offers a few visual options so you can pick the one that matches what you had in mind. Choosing one is called casting, and it sets the look that follows that character through the rest of your story.
1. Open the character
Open the character Voysey created. You will see a small grid of candidate images for that role, each marked with a number such as 01 or 02.
2. Pick the look you want
Click the option you like. It gets a highlighted border and a checkmark, and the others fade back so your choice stands out. Click a different one to change your mind, or click it again to deselect.
3. Cast it
Press the Cast button (it shows the character name) to lock in your pick. That look now becomes the reference for the character everywhere else in your story.
If none of them feel right
Ask Voysey for new options in the chat and describe what to change, such as "older," "warmer lighting," "less stylized," or "more like the reference I attached." A fresh set of candidates appears for you to choose from. Repeat until one fits.
Everything downstream follows from this choice, so it is worth getting right. Spend a moment here before you build a lot of scenes around the character, because the cast look is what Voysey holds to in every shot.
Once a character is cast, read "Keep a character looking the same" to understand how Voysey keeps that look steady across your shots.
