Generative fill

Generative fill lets you paint over any part of an image and describe what belongs in its place. Voysey blends the new content into the surrounding pixels so the seam is invisible.

Step by step
- Open your image in Image Studio.
- Pick the Generative fill tool from the palette.
- Paint over the area you want to change with the mask brush. Bigger brush for broad areas, smaller for tight ones.
- Type what should be there. For example, "a stone lantern on the path".
- Press Generate. Voysey returns a few options. Pick the one you like.
When to use it
- Adding something the original does not have, like a prop, a person in a crowd, or a bird in the sky.
- Swapping one object for another while keeping everything around it identical.
- Filling a gap left by a removed object.
Prompt tip
Describe the object and how it should sit: lighting, angle, scale. "A wooden crate, catching the afternoon side-light, on the ground" beats just "a crate."
