Style transfer

Style transfer applies the look of a reference image (the palette, the brush strokes, the light) onto your working image, without changing what is in your working image. Same subject, new atmosphere.

Step by step

1. Open the image you want to restyle on the canvas.
2. Pick Style transfer from the palette.
3. Drop in a reference image whose look you want to borrow, whether a painting, a photograph, or another one of your generations.
4. Set the strength. Lower keeps the original mood. Higher pushes the reference all the way through.
5. Generate.

Good references, bad references

• Good: a reference with a strong visual identity, meaning a distinctive palette, a clear texture, consistent lighting.
• Less good: a busy reference with many competing styles at once. Voysey will average them, and the result gets muddy.
