Upscale an image

Image Studio·3 min read·Updated 2 months ago

Upscale takes a small or soft image and brings it up to 2× or 4× the original resolution. It is not just interpolation. Voysey regenerates fine detail so the enlarged image reads as sharp instead of blurry.

Step by step

  1. Open the image on the canvas.
  2. Pick Upscale from the palette.
  3. Choose or . 2× is usually enough. 4× is for print or very large screens.
  4. Press Upscale. Voysey returns the enlarged image.

When to use each

  • : bring a good image to a size that reads well on a large display or a poster.
  • : you need real print resolution, or the source was very small.
Watch the file size

4× multiplies the number of pixels sixteenfold. The output file will be noticeably larger, worth it for the target, but not for something that will only ever appear as a thumbnail.
