Edit on your phone with the canvas takeover

On your phone·4 min read·Updated 2 months ago

Editing on a phone in Voysey uses a canvas takeover pattern. Rather than trying to fit a desktop side-panel onto a small screen, each editing tool takes over the full viewport when you open it. Tap a mode and you get the panel. Dismiss it and you are back on the canvas.

Which tools use the takeover

  • Color grade
  • Overlays
  • Mixer
  • Generators
  • Transition

Each opens as a full-screen panel. Nothing gets squished, nothing hides off the edge.

Navigating between tools

A mode strip along the bottom lets you switch between tools without dismissing and re-opening. A navigator filmstrip lets you jump between shots or items without leaving the current tool.

Read-only timeline in portrait

The mobile view includes a read-only multitrack timeline so you can review an arrangement without needing to fit a full editor onto the phone.
