A generation failed or got stuck

Now and then a generation will fail or seem to hang. Most of the time a simple retry fixes it. Here is the order to work through.

Steps to try

1. Give it a moment. Some work, such as full quality renders, simply takes a while. Wait before assuming it is stuck.
2. Retry. Use the retry option on the item that failed. A fresh attempt clears most temporary problems.
3. Simplify the request. If a prompt is very long or asks for many things at once, break it into smaller steps and try again.
4. Reload the page. Refresh and check whether the work actually finished in the background while you waited.
